DRIVEWAYS
Considering concrete for your new driveway? A concrete driveway from Midwest Concrete Driveway Co. combines quality workmanship and materials to create a product that lasts for many years. Concrete is also one of the “greenest,” most dependable options available.
THE PROCESS
The driveway site is first excavated and prepped with a Class #5 base fill. The Class #5 fill is used to create a stable foundation for the application of concrete.
The driveway area is then formed to dimension with rigid steel forms and stakes that prevent bowing. Reinforced rebar is placed and tied into itself. Concrete is then poured 5 inches thick (commercial driveways are usually poured 6-8 inches thick). We use a 6.5 bag or 4500 PSI concrete mix with a granite aggregate. Expansion and control joints are used for sections amounting to the 70 sq. ft or less, this aids in preventing the concrete from cracking.
The concrete is hand finished to a non-skid surface and a cure/seal compound is then applied. Your new driveway will be ready for use after 5-7 days and will provide many years of dependable use.
